Washington, DC - The MusicianShip, the region's leading provider of free, after-school, music education programs for youth and producer of the DMV's largest live-music awards show, announced that the 37th Annual Wammie Music Awards will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026.  The day will mark the much-anticipated return of this iconic music celebration to The Nation’s Capital at the 982-seat, Capital Turnaround, located in Southeast DC.

NOMINATIONS & VOTING

After a two-year hiatus, Wammies Season officially begins this Saturday, 11/15/25 with a revamped award self-nomination process.  The public voting process begins on Monday, 12/15/25.  Stay close to us on Facebook and Instagram for season updates.

MAKE IT A DOUBLE!

The 37th Annual Wammie Awards will be the very first Wammies to celebrate two years in one, the best of the best in DMV Music in 2024 and 2025 in one big night!  Wammie recipients will receive a Limited Edition “Double Wammie” with more than 50 awards slated for presentation over the course of the event.  The evening will consist of the Wammies Red Carpet (live-streamed by WUSA9), featured performances, award presentations, honoree recognitions and a Hall of Fame induction to an individual whose lifetime contributions to the music industry impact us all.

“Our vision for the upcoming Wammie Awards is to further amplify the DMV Region's music ecosystem where its creators, influencers, educators and professionals are not only celebrated for their accomplishments, but also inspired to help uplift our youth for generations to come." says Eric Liley, Executive Director & CEO of The MusicianShip.

WAMMIE WEEK

In the days leading up to the live show on March 28th, The Wammies will host a series of free, moderated music education panels, performances and activities developed for youth and adult musicians of all skill levels. Wammie Week was created to provide intentional spaces that inspire authentic interactions and knowledge-sharing between members of the DMV music community.  The Wammies strive to create access to useful business resources and fruitful relationships to help our community thrive.  Additional details will be released soon.
